Crispy Golden Fried Chicken
Craving some comfort food? Try this crispy golden fried chicken - golden, juicy, and oh-so satisfying. Ideal for a family gathering or a snug evening indoors!
Ingredients:
- 8 pieces of chicken (legs, thighs, breasts)
- 2 cups of buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon of hot sauce
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
- Combine buttermilk and hot sauce in a large bowl, whisking until well blended. Add chicken pieces to ensure they are fully submerged. Cover the mixture and let it marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours, or overnight.
- In a large shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Coat each piece thoroughly with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry chicken in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, for about 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Place fried chicken on a wire rack over a baking sheet to drain excess oil.
