Ingredients
- 3 Alaskan King Crab Legs
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tbsp Water
- 3/4 cup Flour
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning, divided
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper, divided
- 3/4 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
How to Make Fried Crab Legs
1. Prepare the Crab Legs
Use scissors or crab crackers to break apart the crab legs and remove the meat. Discard the shells.
2. Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a shallow dish, beat the eggs and water together until well combined. Set aside.
3. Season the Flour
Mix the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon of Old Bay, and 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a bowl.
4. Prepare the Breadcrumbs
Combine the remaining Old Bay seasoning, panko breadcrumbs, and cayenne pepper in another shallow bowl. Set aside.
5. Dredge the Crab Meat
Dredge the crab meat in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Then, immerse it in the egg mixture and let any excess drain off.
6. Coat with Breadcrumbs
Coat the crab meat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to make sure it sticks.
7. Fry the Crab Legs
Heat oil in a pan to 350-375°F (175-190°C). Fry the crab legs, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 4 minutes. Set them on a plate lined with paper towels to allow excess oil to drain.
