Ingredients
- 2 lbs turkey wings, cut into sections
- 1 tbsp poultry seasoning
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp poultry seasoning (for flour)
- 1 1/2 tsp seasoning salt
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Put the turkey wing sections into a large container. Season with 1 tbsp poultry seasoning, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Pour the buttermilk over the turkey, and let it brine in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
- Drain the wings and discard the buttermilk. Rinse the wings under water and set them aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour with 1 tbsp poultry seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and seasoning salt. Sift the mixture to combine evenly.
- Coat the wings thoroughly with the seasoned flour.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 360°F (182°C). Carefully drop the wings into the hot oil.
- Fry the wings until they are golden brown and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the wings and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve and enjoy your crispy deep-fried turkey wings!
